Lane R. Gabeler-Millner, Senior Partner, has 35 years of experience with legal transactions involving contracts and business law, family and elder law, wills, trusts, estate planning, and administration.

“When I was in law school I was taught to serve the court, the client, and the community,” says Ms. Gabeler-Milner. She is widely recognized for excelling in all three of these areas and has earned the highest level esteem from her peers, as indicated by being elected Fellow of the Virginia Law Foundation, an honor shared by only 1% of attorneys in the state.

Ms. Gabeler-Millner is Commonwealth Counsel for Eminent Domain for the Attorney General of Virginia. She is a member of the Nine Society, the Governing Board of the Virginia Bar Association, The Northern Virginia Estate and Trust Council, the Northern Virginia Collaborative Society, and the Law Practice Management Council of the Virginia Bar Association.

A leader in the local community, Ms. Gabeler-Millner has served as Board Member of the McLean Bar Association, the McLean Revitalization Corporation, the McLean Orchestra, the St. Johns Episcopal Church Endowment Fund, and the McLean Chamber of Commerce.

Ms. Gabeler-Millner is known for her holistic, hands-on relationships with clients. A noted expert in Virginia estate and probate law, she has been practicing family law “since before it became synonymous with divorce.”

Ms. Gabeler-Milner has recently become accredited to practice collaborative law. In this approach, both parties agree to full disclosure and commit to working together to find the best possible result. Collaborative law is appropriate not only in divorce cases but in business, probate, and other disputes.
